Kaabia Grewal’s Magnificent Nuptials Broke The Internet

Weddings are no longer just a celebration of love. Today, they also entail the celebration of individual style. Take for instance Kaabia Grewal’s recent nuptials with Rushang Shah that broke the internet. Grewal, one half of jewellery label Outhouse, got married to Shah at the exotic island of Phu Quoc in Vietnam in a slew of extravagant ceremonies that saw all the fashion industry insiders in attendance.

Hashtagged #KABANNG, the couple also created their own Instagram page Kabanng2019 that saw the journey of the couple right from the proposal that took place at the Golden Temple to the wedding in Vietnam. Here you can also catch glimpses of the bachelorette where the bride jet set her entire crew including sister Sasha Grewal, designer duo Shivan and Narresh, Siddhartth Mahajan, Sunaina Kwatra amongst others to Mykonos. Their glamourous and coordinated Shivan and Narresh outfits against the azure waters of Greece was the talk of the fashion industry.

Much like the bachelorette, Shivan and Narresh designed graphic outfits for the brides mehendi and wedding ceremony. The duo also doubled as the ‘Best Men’ for Grewal at the wedding along with Mahajan, their partner at their eponymous label. Grewal mixed it up with an exquisite structured fuchsia gown by maven Amit Aggarwal for the Mad Mansion, while the gorgeous jewellery she was bedecked with was all Outhouse, of course.
Let’s take a peek into their celebration. Caution: Mesmerising wedding photos and details ahead.

Welcome Party

The wedding began with a celebratory brunch to welcome the guests. Kaabia was swathed in a customised ivory cut-out ruffled asymmetric resort dress by Shivan and Narresh to set off the tropical hues of the destination. Embracing the vivid colours of the island was the bride’s sister Sasha who was dressed in a ‘Deccan Scarf Paneyo’ with tassels and a raffia belt.

Mehendi Ceremony

Taking a departure from the cookie-cutter ceremonies, the Mehendi ceremony had a tribal folklore vibe. To go with this vibe, the bride was dressed in a customised Shivan and Narresh bejewelled bustier with dramatic raffia sleeves and ‘Koi Coal’ flared trousers. The groom Rushang was twinning with the bride in a ‘Kio Coal’ shirt and ‘Coal’ resort trousers. The duo took the guests on a trip of wonders, tribal traditions, and enchanted beliefs, with the surrounding and decor mimicking the theme. The bride’s family was dressed in Shivan and Narresh creations to match the theme.

The Wedding Ceremony

Kaabia was Shivan and Narresh’s first couture beach bride. Her outfit was a surreal infusion of traditions of an Indian and a white wedding, encapsulated in a stunning ecru carnation skein lehenga. The bride made a spectacular entrance on a boat, seated on a floral-embellished throne. The bridesmaids were all dressed in bubblegum pink outfits in different styles designed by Atsu Sekhose of Atsu, while the bridesmen Shivan and Narresh were dressed in their custom-made creations.
