The House under the helm of Alessandro Michele will unveil a re-launched line of cosmetics er the helm of Alessandro Michele will unveil a re-launched line of cosmetics to add to their existing beauty offerings of perfumes. The announcement was made with the launch of a range of lipsticks, and followed by a party in New York.
The three new lipstick collections are in diverse formulations: Rouge à Lèvres Satin with a satin finish, Rouge à Lèvres Voile with a sheer finish, and Baume à Lèvres, lip balm with a translucent finish.
Rouge à Lèvres Satin is creamy with intense colour. The formula delivers a long-lasting satin finish that leaves your pout feeling smooth and soft, with a lightweight and comfortable feel. And it comes in 36 varied shades.
Rouge à Lèvres Voile with its sheer formula gives a luminous finish in a pop colour palette of 18 shades that delivers a feeling of moisture and comfort in a lightweight texture.
Baume à Lèvres enhances the natural smoothness and texture of the lips. The balms lend a soft wash of colour, with three shades and one transparent formula, melting on lips to leave a feeling of hydration, moisture, and comfort.
The brand began teasing us on Instagram with their campaigns, that much like the collections Michele presents on the runway, also championed self-expression. The campaigns embraces diversity and inclusivity, by tweaking the long-existing beauty standards. You can see the rich red hues swiped across less-than perfect but beautiful smiles that flaunt crooked teeth.
Shot by photographer Martin Parr and art directed by Christopher Simmonds, the campaign is the brainchild of Michele, and was assisted by Gucci’s Global Make-up Artist Thomas de Kluvyer and his team. The diverse faces in the beauty campaign are that of Dani Miller, lead singer of punk band Surbort, along with models Mae Lapres, Achok Majak, and Ellia Sophia.
Known to present their products in Instagram-worthy packaging, case in point their latest fragrance launch The Alchemist's Garden that comes bottled in apothecary bottles, the new lipstick bullets flaunt similar packaging.
The New Lipsticks Collection launches on May 28 on Harrods.com, following the earlier release in select boutiques in New York.
