Sophie Turner's French Wedding Look Reinstates The Classic Bridal Gown

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas tied the knot for the second time in a romantic ceremony in France, one that succeeded their impromptu Las Vegas wedding. Needless to say, the bride's first look from the wedding was much awaited and finally, days after the nuptials at the majestic Château de Tourreau, we finally got an insight into the look, one bound to give would-be-brides the inspiration they desire.

A distinct departure from the modern jumpsuit worn for her Las Vegas ceremony, Turner opted for a classic design for her French nuptials. Complete with a cascading, lace skirt embellished with flowers, the ball gown pattern exuded a vintage appeal. Featuring cut-out details at the back along with sheer sleeves, the torso balanced the look of the gown perfectly. The highlight? A white veil amalgamating floral appliqués and lace at the ends, complementing the bridal gown that was reminiscent of Grace Kelly's wedding attire.

Worn in 1956 when she wed Prince Rainer III of Monaco to become royalty, Grace Kelly's ethereal gown was designed by Helen Rose and comprised 100 yards of silk net. Much like Sophie Turner, her lace veil was worn in a classic style, held in place by a Juliet cap rather than a tiara. Little was known at the time that her look would go on to rewrite the decrees of bridal fashion, with royals and celebrities such as Kate Middleton and Miranda Kerr following in her footsteps alike.

Turner's look by Louis Vuitton, the French fashion house she represents, may have come as a pleasant surprise but isn't entirely unexpected; timeless regal looks are reigning supreme when it comes to the key bridal trends of 2019. Think emphasised sleeves, dainty lace, voluminous silhouettes, multiple tiers, and a Marie Antoinette-inspired extravagance, also showcased by the likes of Valentino and Vera Wang in their Bridal Fall 2019 collections.

Speaking of key bridal trends, there is plenty to take into account for brides who may be planning their forthcoming wedding. Here's taking a look at the ones you wouldn't want to miss out on.

Dainty coverings have been having a true-fashion moment. Whether you wish to go the flapper route with a '20s-vibe involving metallic beads and fringes or the classic way with an embroidered offering, there are a plethora of offerings for the trend, with iterations ranging from an overall embellished coverlet to a minimally adorned number.

We're not going to lie, Priyanka Chopra's 75-foot train has created quite a stir in the wedding circuit. To the point where the traditional wedding accessory tops the list when it comes to wedding trends of the year. And since a lengthy option may not be utilitarian, you can always go for a shorter version channeling the spirit of the in-vogue addition.

Emphasised sleeves to do the talking? You may be in luck for structured, over the top sightings are all the rage. For anyone who wants to delve into a distinct look that takes a departure from the normcore, this is the trend for you to dip your toes into.

Ever the modern bride at heart? Worry not, for the trend lives in the year of 2019, coexisting with the traditional gowns. Expect sleek silhouettes, plunging necklines, and a minimal appeal if you are looking forward to walking down the aisle wearing something that resonates with this bridal trend.
