This Is Not A Drill: Meghan Markle's Chic Dress From The Lion King Premiere Is Available Online

Citing a lineup of an excellent star cast and a classic storyline, the much-anticipated remake of The Lion King has been garnering much applause before it has even hit the big screen. As is the case with pop culture, Disney's multi-starrer has already inspired collections of toys as well as beauty kits for adults, and just when we thought it couldn't get bigger, and better, it did.

Just a day after attending the Wimbledon final with Kate Middleton where she was seen cheering on her friend Serena Williams, The Duchess of Sussex attended the London Premiere of The Lion King, sending her fans and quite understandably, the internet, in a frenzy.

Arriving at the Odeon Theatre with Prince Harry whilst still on maternity leave, Meghan Markle wore a classic black dress by Jason Wu featuring a flared skirt, sheer full sleeves and a traditional round neck with mesh detailing. As is the case with everything she chooses to wear, the calf-length dress with a peephole at the back is speedily selling out, with only five pieces left at online retailer Farfetch at the time of this story being written.

Along with the iteration of the little black dress that is retailing at approximately INR 2,97,430, The Duchess of Sussex accessorised her look with a black clutch by Gucci and minimal stud earrings by Nikos Koulis. Overall, her look was synonymous with the traditional style of dressing she has chosen to wear on numerous occasions, like her wedding dress designed by Givenchy's Clare Wright Keller.

The royal couple were attending the premiere in support of #ProtectThePride, a conservation campaign undertaken by Walt Disney Company in order to protect and raise awareness about the declining lion population across Africa. The public appearance comes prior to the launch of the Duke and Duchess's own environment initiative, set to be launched in autumn.

And as if all of that on the fashion and environment front wasn't enough, the event also gave the Internet a major moment to rejoice; Meghan Markle finally met Beyoncé, who happens to be the voice of Nala in the movie, giving a rest to fans who have been waiting for the dynamic pair to meet since the film's London screening was announced.

Could one ask for more? We think not.
