Stella McCartney and LVMH announce a new partnership to further develop the Stella McCartney House. The goal of this partnership will be for the Stella McCartney House to accelerate its worldwide development in terms of business and strategy, while of course remaining faithful to its long-lasting commitment to sustainability and ethical fashion. We are delighted to open this new chapter together. The full scope of this deal will be detailed in September. #LVMH #StellaMcCartney
In a statement issued by the luxury group, LVMH emphasised on the need to focus on sustainability while expanding business. McCartney, known for championing ethical practices and advocating sustainable fashion in the industry through her brand, will reportedly hold a major stake, continuing her role as the brand's creative director. More importantly, the designer will also be coming on board as a sustainability advisor to Bernard Arnault, CEO of the LVMH group.
By joining LVMH, Stella McCartney becomes the second woman to helm a leading brand under the group. Just two months ago, the luxury giant announced the launch of Fenty Maison in partnership with Rihanna, marking a noticeable effort to expand its prestigious portfolio of fashion and beauty brands which already include Louis Vuitton, Dior, Sephora, and Fendi, amongst others. While McCartney is known for her efforts towards making the fashion industry more sustainable and ethical in its practices, Rihanna's foray into fashion has ignited the much-needed fire of inclusivity.
The details of this new partnership will formally be announced in September this year. But while the world waits, there's another announcement that the British designer made this Monday. Yes, Canadian singer Grimes will be the face of her collaboration with Adidas. “Grimes is the perfect embodiment of the Adidas by Stella McCartney core values. She is passionate and outspoken about protecting the planet, and a true trailblazer for pushing creative boundaries and inspiring women to unlock their potential in all aspects of their lives,” the designer wrote on Instagram.
Enough cause for excitement on this dreary Tuesday? Might we also suggest shopping these Stella McCartney offerings then?
