Bold & Bright Is The Make-Up Mood This Season And Here Are All The Trends That You Need To Follow
by | January 20, 2020
Can't stop thinking about Saoirse Ronan's glitter, graphic liner look at the Golden Globes 2020? Well, you and us both.
Classic Bold Mouth
Missed out on wearing a bold, red mouth amidst all the nude frenzy last year? Now is the time! The good, old, Marilyn Monroe-esque lips are making a swift come back this year and we can't wait to rock some firetruck red. From cherry reds to warmer tones like marsala, everything should be at your disposal this year.

Colour-Blocking
Beauty this year is all about breaking the rules and we'd like to set the ball rolling by wearing a bold mouth along with bold eyes. The monochromes of 2019 are old news in 2020, and we aren't scared of some contrast anymore. Might we suggest pairing an orange lipstick with violet eyes? Alternatively, you can also try on some coral blush with a hot pink mouth.

Graphic Eyes In Colour
The graphic eyeliner has managed to make a successful transition from 2019 to 2020 but not without a few tweaks, a pop of colour being the biggest adjustment. Make-up artists across the world continue to play with liner as it gets a brighter and more dramatic this season. Draw on those lids with neon hues of pink, yellow, green, and more.

Blush Outside The Boundaries
Don't shy away from colouring outside the lines as you go about breaking the make-up rules this year. Opt for warmer shades of blush, and be generous with it and blend it in with your eye shadow.

Accept The Blues
The Pantone colour of the year, Classic Blue is being hailed as a pleasing change after softer hues of pretty lilac and sunset coral had their moment previously. While it's way easier to incorporate the softer Pantone hues into your make-up palette, Classic Blue proves to be a bit of a challenge and that's where the fun lies. You can drizzle a night blue on your nails or turn heads with an electric lid. From deep azure to a dazzling turquoise, all hues of blue are game right now.

Glitter
From sequinned sarees to embellished peepers, glitter is currently finding an easy space everywhere. Ditch that brush and dab your way to soft glitter lids or go extra with confetti eyes, there is just no way you can go wrong with some glitter (or a lot of it) right now.

Believable Brows
This year, brows look like brows! The perfect, painstakingly executed 'Instagram eyebrows' are a thing of the past. While new-age treatments like Brow Laminations have contributed in the shift, it is the revival of old-school techniques like using soaps and pomade for a fuller, feather-like eyebrow look that has initiated the trend.

Glass Skin
The desire for radiant, glossy skin hasn't diminished one bit over time. The trend is only getting stronger as the beauty industry endeavours to merge skincare with make-up. As beauty bloggers and make-up artists around the world keep playing with the trend, that delicious, dewy glow is staying here for good.

Accented Inner Corners, Negative Spaces And Watercolours
From makeup artist Sarah Redzikowski to supermodel Gigi Hadid, there isn't a single person who isn't crushing on accented inner eye corners right now. Just like graphic eyeliner, inner eye accents have embraced colour this year. Neutral eyeshadows and highlighters have been replaced with popping shades of yellow to create bigger, brighter eyes.

'Negative space' is the new trend on the block. The idea is to leave a part of your lids unpainted by creating a bold cut crease. You can push the boundaries with this look and create unique shapes and styles with colour.

Watercolor eyes are the trend to watch for right this minute. The method is easy and all you need to do is softly cover the eyes in stand out hues that create a painting-like effect! Pick up a statement hue and blend it well to create an even colour that softly wraps around the eye.
