Zoë Kravitz' Wedding Gown Inspired Us To Round-Up Our Fave Unconventional Bridal Dresses

Opening the year on a grand note, and in what happens to be a marked departure from her no-big-deal announcement streak, actor Zoë Kravitz finally gave us a peek into her wedding ceremony, almost seven months after the elaborate affair. In what appears like an apt toast to the actress’s long-standing friendship with Alexander Wang, Kravitz initiated the montage with a candid image of the designer lounging in his studio along with the Big Little Lies star’s ballerina-esque wedding dress in the background.

Right from a dreamy reunion with her Big Little Lies co-stars to her bow-accented headband, everything has us scrolling wishfully through the wedding pics. It is the unconventional length of Kravitz’ drop-waist wedding dress that has us truly hooked. Ending at her ankles, the T-length wedding dress along with its fitted bodice makes a rather graceful ensemble while adding a touch of novelty to the otherwise traditional bridal white. The demure flats further accentuate the tutu-like appeal of the entire outfit: a considerably different outfit from her edgy rehearsal one where she sported an embellished fishnet dress with bike shorts and a matching bra.

This is certainly not the first time that a famous bride has taken the unconventional route with her wedding dress. Eccentric bridal ensembles date way back to early '90s when Wallis Simpson made it to aisle wearing a Wallis blue (her signature shade that reflected her pale blue eyes) Mainbocher waist dress. Actress Elizabeth Taylor, on the other hand, had a penchant for bold colours and her eight wedding dresses included a hooded olive green floor-length gown, a playful sunflower yellow dress, and a Gina Fratini-designed dress tie-dyed in rainbow hues.
