Luxeva Expert Speak: A Brief Guide To Transitioning Your Skincare Routine For Summer
by | April 25, 2020
Summer is here and even though we are spending our time indoors, skincare regimes demand a change with the striking change in weather. To beat the heat and make sure that your skin gets the absolute best care as the mercury rises, take note of the transition your skincare routine will require.

Change In Skincare
With the onset of summer, it becomes essential to bring a change in your regime too. The weather is humid, the skin oily and sweaty so its little wonder that the obstruction of pores becomes much easier. The solution? Choose a facewash that incorporates salicylic acid once to twice a day, based on how oily your skin is. Salicylic acid cleanses out sebum and cleans out your follicles, meaning it is perfect for the weather. As an alternative, you can keep a few things in mind when picking out a lotion—a sebium pore refiner with clay in it; BHAs to unobstruct and effective ingredients like AHAs.

Change Your Moisturiser
If your skin is especially oily, you may not even need a moisturiser! But if you still feel the need to use one, switch to a gel or a light lotion like bioderma sebium hydra.
And Your Sunscreen Too!
You may have experienced first-hand how the skin tends to feel oily and sticky with the sunscreen on. The simple step you need to take is to transition to one with a gel base so that it sits lightly on your skin and doesn’t feel greasy.
In addition, it's wise to use a bentonite or Multani mitti mask once a week.

Breathable Clothing
Give preference to cotton or other breathable fabrics, changing them when you get sweaty. Remember that your body can develop rashes, thanks to all that heat. In case you do get a rash, opt for an antiseptic body wash containing benzoyl peroxide—which also helps prevent acne—for relief.
